Actaually Ortega made clear he thinks there are no actual plans in the works for an "official military coup" - just contingency planning because the intelligence agencies "plan for everything." He also said US intelligence is more active in Venezuela, Bolivia, and Ecuador. In the same interview, he noted there are areas for overlap with the US - ie. in drug interdiction. I don't see how what Ortega said is considered a contradiction, or even that difficult to understand. Makes perfect sense to me.
