I grew up in San Diego, and am a lifelong Padres fan, so I was pleased to see we signed Mike Piazza. I doubt he’ll even crack 20 homers, but maybe he’ll surprise everyone. Over the years, the Padres have demonstrated clearly that no one is too old or too decrepit, as long as they’re cheap.

I was surprised he didn't go to the AL, but it seems like he didn't get any bites.
