Podcast Episode 34: Violence Against Journalists in Mexico
In Episode 34 of Understanding Latin American Politics: The Podcast I talk with Jan-Albert Hootsen, who is Mexico Correspondent for the Committee to Protect Journalists,
Trouw and America Magazine. As you might guess, he’s been focusing a lot on how
dangerous it is to be a journalist in Mexico, and that’s the topic of
conversation. Among other things, we talk about the murder of Javier Valdez and the complicity of the Mexican government (at all levels and across parties).
