U.S. Credibility and Venezuela

A Kremlin spokesperson responded:

“There have been no official messages in this regard from the Russian side nor could there be any,” Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters.
...
“We don’t know what ‘removed most of their people’ means,” Peskov said.

The Russians were so confused they didn't even have any idea what the President of the United State was talking about. So they trolled him.

In sum, the President of the United States either fabricated a conversation with a Russian official or misunderstood it so badly that he clearly does not know at all what is happening in Venezuela. A third possibility mentioned in the article is that he saw a newspaper article and then made up a story about how a Russian informed him. This is why the U.S. has no credibility.
