Colombia interpreter

I recently complained that the State Department needed an interpreter, because no one knew what Rafael Correa had to say.  Apparently they got one for Alvaro Uribe.

I find the State Department transcript absolutely shocking, given that the speaker is a head of state.

Could they not just transcribe the Spanish, if nothing else? Tons of people in this country can read the language, even if there is not translation provided.

To be clear, I'm referring to the Correa non-transcript in your linked June 9 post.
