Shining Path

Peruvian police were ambushed in the jungle by the “remnants” of the Shining Path. These days the Shining Path’s mission is to protect drug traffickers (and one of its remaining leaders was caught a few days ago).

Viva la revolución.

They are adopting the FARC model of revolution:
i. have your own unique brand of Communism separate from that of most Marxist-Leninist movements in LA. ii. Hang out in the backwoods
iii. Finance revolution through drugs.

hi there, i.m from canada. its really hard to find info on this stuff! i want to go and do a story on the shining path and the whole drug trade i dont know where to go, specifically, whoelse to talk to. i,m going to south america either way. thanks
