Charlotte: A Welcome Denied?

The Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars has released a study entitled, "Charlotte: A Welcome Denied" regarding Latino immigration. I've been highly critical of immigration policy and I am sympathetic to many of the views expressed, but this particular study has two important problems:

First, the majority of its data is from the 2000 census, which is almost a decade ago. That simply does not reflect current realities. From a policy perspective, you would never try to make a convincing argument with numbers that old.

Second, its qualitative accounts are only from 10 people who attended a roundtable in 2007. This is useful for understanding what specific leaders are thinking, but 10 people is not enough to make generalizations.
